The Philosophy behind EDGE
To compete and succeed in athletics and dance every person must master the fundamentals of movement: cutting, acceleration, deceleration, power, speed, balance and absorption. Athletes who master these movements are the “naturals” and can excel at any activity.
Forged in the studies of biomechanics and physics and honed through years of experience perfecting movement, the EDGE P3 program was created by Lisa Giannone to improve athletic and dance performance. With classes currently taught by Lisa and Active Care’s team of former Division I athletes, professional dancers and athletic trainers, every movement has a purpose that is sport or dance specific.
The program is built on the principles of Preparation, Prevention, and Performance and is designed to excel athletes and dancers of all ages and skill levels by developing strength, body symmetry, coordination and confidence on the field or stage. The program takes from the latest research supporting proper conditioning as a way to reduce sports related injury and combines that with ACTIVE CARE’S 25+ years of experience in returning athletes and dancers to elite performance.
What you’ll get from an Edge P3 class is hard cardiovascular and strength exercise that will build SPECIFIC muscle function and stamina. Importantly, the EDGE P3 program is designed for specificity – specificity of movement, specificity of purpose and most of all, specificity of precise muscular training for a desired sport. Lastly, EDGE athletes and dancers will earn the psychological advantage of pushing past the outer limits of fatigue.

If you run, cut or jump this class is for you. Field and court athletes require a high level of dynamic function which needs to be specifically developed. The EDGE-Athletic Performance class is designed for young athletes that want to jump higher, move quicker and avoid injury.
EDGE-Dance Conditioning and Performance
Dancers are unique athletes. While dance demands an artistic aesthetic they need to train like athletes. The class is designed and taught by EDGE professional dancers with not only those specific needs, but with attention to a ballet and dance body symmetry in mind as well.
HAMMER workout is a high intensity, high energy performance class that uses impact and movement through multiple planes to work your entire body. It is based entirely in Lisa Giannone’s Rehabilitation and Training Systems and is designed to methodically activate and work “every” muscle for the purposes of durability and performance. Lisa believes you must specifically go hard and push yourself to appreciate real benefits of fitness and improved athleticism. The class is ideal for and regularly populated with court and field athletes, boxers, runners, dancers and all others ready and willing to push to the next level! For those participants with limited impact training, modification in intensity can be accomplished by modifying any of the movements. *Note, this is the Master level version of the workout and runs up to 95 minutes.
WHAT TO WEAR: Gym clothes and supportive, high cushion shoes (running type).
